My stock tires were just taller than the wear bars at 26K miles. I rotate every 10K, and they wore evenly, slightly more in the back than front, without feathering or cupping. Majority of the mileage was paved roads with probably less than 5K on dirt and actual off-road. Pretty disappointed in the tread life, as the Michelin LTX on my '02 looked almost new after 30K. When the set on there dies again, I'll be looking at something else, probably the Bridgestone Revo.

I replaced at 70k, had a little tread left. About 1/3 of the miles were towing heavy. Not much gravel. I was very pleased with these tires.

Replaced 3 and put the spare on the ground. Marked the original with a chrome valve stem cover so I could compare the wear to the new tires.

My neighbor has an 03 with about 60k on the same tires, has the same issue with the sidewalls..

I have 44k on the current tires..

Replacing with BFG All Terrain TA/KOs same size and e-rated..

What pressure were you running in the tires?

Hey annabelle,

On on my second set of 285s. I drove on a lot of curvy/hilly back roads for most of the miles. I didn't get what I expected. What are you running for air pressure?

Thanks
Pete

I've got 67K on my stock Rugged Trails, and expect to easily get another 10K to 20K out of them. Most of my driving is highway.

I had 42K on my stockers with a fair bit of heavy 5th wheel towing and some 4x4 stuff during the hunting season. They still had decent tread on them for NC, but I was headed up to NY for Hunting season and wanted something decent for snow and muddier logging roads. I went with the Toyo OC AT. Great tire, should take me to at least 40K. When I replace them, I will probably go with Hankooks this time. They are a little less expensive and they still have a 285/70R17. I am going to drop down a little in size, just to try and keep the 5th wheel level. Scotty

I have 100,652 on them right now, not down to the wear bars yet but getting close.
Run 65# of pressure all the time
I do have the sidewall issue though.
Plan to replace them in the next couple of months.
