how to get tar off your vehicle

Okay this ain't about my truck but y'all seem to know more than any other car/truck people I know.

My wife had to drive through where they were paving and got those little spots all over the van where it was kicked up from the tires. That stuff will not come off but I haven't used anything powerful yet I guess.

Please tell me of any tricks or sure fire remedies to get that crap off--thanks!

Another vote for WD-40

I have used gasoline also but usually WD-40 does it right away!

Wd-40 works well, or the mother's clay bar kit works wonders on removing almost anything.

I use goof off, just don't use it on any plastic parts that are not painted. I just put a little on a rag and the tar wipes off with little to no effort.

GentleKleen hand cleaner. Non pumace. Slop on with hand, let set for several minutes, then run hand across the coated surface to loosen thicker wads. Turn hose on and rinse off. I had gone over a newly tar and chipped road near Yellowstone. Thought GentleKleen takes tar off your hands I'll give it a try. Worked well and very easy!

I've got some PB blaster, isn't that the same as WD-40 almost? Could I use that?

PB Blaster and WD-40 are completly differant. About the only thing they have in common is they both come in a spray can.

I like Turtle Wax bug and tar remover.

I had great luck with a product called Tarminator made by Stoner, the same people that make Invisible Glass.

Ronsonol Lighter fluid works great and will not hurt the paint. Used it for years on all my cars. I will wax the area after I use it.
