thanks man

p 0713 came up on that wiki under the p codes as trans temp sensor voltage too high this makes sense because i cooked the fluid
so I guess I need to find where the trans temp sensor is and either install a small resistor or replace the temp sensor
Think is I did have the trans temp light go on, but, not anymore.
Wondering if this send the transmission into a limp mode or something because I just has too little resistance(voltage too high) now that a sorta overheated it, or if its just something recorded in the truck brain from the previous situation.
I guess I am willing to replace the temp sensor when I find out where it is, wondering if i screws in the side of the 48RE or if it in inside the pan.
Kinda lost for now. Trans temp is fine after a few fluid changes and filters
(my bad) been checking it with an infrared hvac thermometer (my bad)

I recommend you start a new thread regarding the sensor as this one is specific to codes. By doing so, I am sure others familiar with this subject will assist you.

A truck that has low milage and high hours was likely idled for extensive amounts of time.

Also just good info to have.

Is the hour calculation on the trucks the same as tractors where an hour is wide open trottle or is the Cummins actual run time at any engine speed?

The engine hour meter is one handy tool for a number reasons, fuel economy and engine longevity high among them.

The B50 or MTBO of a pre-2008 Cummins is 350k miles. That is based on a 30-35 mph average speed.

So, take your engine hours and divide it into total miles. If you see that you are "averaging" 27-mph or higher you will (according to my research) find that your fuel economy is at a good point (given many factors), as a low average mph points to excessive idling, and not just poor fuel economy.

High idling average means cylinder washdown (low load cool running engine versus ideal higher load, hot running engine).

The latest FORDs break out idle time from total engine time. A nice feature. Known as PTO time.

After following the directions turn key on and off three times no codes were displayed on my instrument panel ether.

Done...

I accidentally did this is morning turning my key over 3 times trying to let the glow plugs warm up it said done and I was like oh Edit what did i do. Glad I finally know that everything is good and "Done" is a good thing

You don't have any "Glow Plugs" the fuel in your Cummins is fired only by extreme compression. You do have a grid heater in the intake to warm the air when it is cold and which helps to ignite the fuel in cold weather.
