How to change time on Navigation systems

My NAV system's DVD got damaged last summer. Apparently you need the disk even to adjust the clock, since it's all built together with the system.

Does anybody know a way around this or does anybody have a cheap used DVD that they don't need ( with older maps maybe) ?

I looked on Ebay but the cheapest is around 40 bucks, and that's too much just to change the time on the display.

What if you unhook the batteries and then reconnect them at exactly 12:00?

Hum. Mines in a magnum but to change that one you need to be in park with engine off then it allows you to access the menu
