Functional Ram Air Hoods do nothing to cool the water temps, they do have an effect on EGT's. That's why I got mine.

Question

OK thanks Bob, that's what I figured. I need a scoop below the bumper to deflect air up toward the radiator, maybe weld a little lip on

Why not just the "old fashioned" hood louvers? Does any one do that any more and wouldn't that help keep the engine compartment cool with air flowing out through the louvers?

I got quoted from my local dealer on a SRT-10 hood for my truck at $600, he said it came primered not painted and that would cost around $300. Luckily I know a buddy who works for house of colors and can hook me up way cheaper on a paint job to match my white.

Older Ram truck hoods from AAR.
You can't go wrong with AAR..by far the best quality fiberglass parts, the fit is outstanding. I use their stuff on the old Dart.

I bought a look-alike Rumble Bee hood scoop from a guy on ebay...it came painted and is beautiful....it bolted on (yes, drilled 6 holes) and used double sided tape...the color is a perfect match and you can hardly tell the difference from the factory bolt on scoop...it cost $260, I think...already painted....now they are arounf $200....here's a link:

Talking Hood Scoop

I have the srt hood on my trk and as you can see fom my sig it's solar yellow 3/4 ton I took some pic but the camera broke before we downloaded them gonna try again the price was 640 with the accessory package which is the screen and whatnot. cost me 300.00 to get her painted and installed. I had the frount and the risers on the side painted black . and put my nickname ABB'S in italic letters on the riser in yellow it gives the hood a old style shaker hood look going down thre road I gota say it gets a lot of looks and comments. Of course the only thing about this is everyone says Hey you gotta Hemi? man oh man!!!
