hood dents

about 1 year ago i purchased a new 2006 quad cab. for the passed 35 years everything i've owned had a bowtie on the grille but took a chance with dodge and so far i have not been disappointed. right after buying the truck, i noticed a small dent in the hood, drivers side near the chrome grille bezel. i thought how stupid i was not to notice this when i took delivery. the dent was barely noticeable and figuring i would upgrade to an srt10 hood, didn't worry about it. lately, i saw that the dent was more pronouced and another dent has appeared on the other side in about the same place. it is as if something is pulling down from the underside. i thought perhaps the grille mount brackets but can't be sure. i can hear the dealer now telling me they won't cover it. the question is, anybody else experience this and if so, what was it?

If all else fails, use Dent Busters. I had a dent in my tail gate and after using that type of service, dent disappeared. Used them many time on other trucks.
If you are near my area I have an awesome custom body shop that will fix it.

since the dents seem to be caused from something on the underside, pulling the dents out might only cure the problem temporarily.

I bought an 07 at the end of March, and noticed a small dent in the hood, along where the metal starts to bend over the side of the hood, about a third of the way back. It was raining when I got the truck, so didn't notice it, or maybe it wasn't there, till later. Doesn't look like anything hit it, no scratch ect.... maybe a stress issue on the hood? Seems like the Truck gets wound up pretty tight in some instances.

Pretty strange .... my '05 has 2 very small dents on the drivers' side of the hood. They're on the top surface just in front of the hinge area. I did not notice them until I had the truck for a couple of weeks.

Dent

I noticed a small dent on the drivers side of my 06 hood also. I noticed it about a week after I bought it. I just figured something hit it. I will have to look and see what is underneath the hood at that spot.

This is very strange!! I bought an 06 a little over a year ago and noticed a very small dent in the hood on the driver's side about 10" from the top right where the hood starts to bend over towards the fender. I noticed it about a month after I had the truck. The stranger thing is that my boss bought a left over 05 about a year ago and we noticed a dent almost identical to mine about a month or so after he had the truck. I am starting to see a pattern here with dents in the hood.-Frog BTW neither dealer that we purchased the trucks from returned our calls in regards to the dents.

I talked to my dealer yesterday, showed them the dent, and of course they said they don't cover dents. I asked them if they have had any other complaints like this. They said they haven't but they are going to ask their DM and let me know. I don't expect a call back.

My wifes 03 expedition got a mystery dent about 3/4" on the hood with not chipped paint or scratches. I asked if she might have hit anything and she said no. Couple of days later I noticed my neighbors kid was "learning" to play golf in his front yard and mine was the LZ. He now practices at the school yard. Not that this is your cause but just my experience. BTW no dents (so far)on my 07
