Tailgate Dents

I have 2 small dents on my tailgate that I have no idea where they came from. The light has to be just right, but when it is you can see a small dent at the height of the handle, about a foot away on each side of the handle. I can not figure out where I got these dents; they are the only dents on my truck. It is too high for a door ding or backing dent, I don’t think I dropped the tailgate on something like a bumper pull trailer, etc (I would have known immediately). The only cause I can think of is from me and my steel-toe boots climbing into and out of the bed of the truck. Anyone else have similar dents? It bothers me that I can not figure out where the only dents on my truck came from.

Matt,

Get yourself a framing hammer and give the tailgate one big WHAM!!! Those two little dents won't bother you so much after that.

Just a little tip from one Aggie to another.

I was at a loading dock the other day and after a pallet of material was set in the bed, the guy on the loading dock used the toe of his boot to reach under the tailgate and kicked it closed. He seemed not to realize what he had done. Needless to say, I was upset. No dent tho.
