The Beast hit 400,000 this morning. 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins/G56 Six Speed Sport. One day after its original delivery date 16 years ago. I picked it up 07-SEP-2005. Would've hit it sooner but the rona had slowed work down making me work primarily from home. Next stop, 500,000. Imma probably jinx myself, but she's still operating on the original injectors, injector pump and lift pump... and original turbo.
Congratulations! I have an early 98 12 valve with 437K on the clock. Still no blow by but it does not look anything nearly as clean as yours. Lets see who gets to 500K first.
Thanks Mutt!! I'm sure both trucks will hit 500k easily. I have no plans to get rid of this one. I sold a 2018 Durango SRT and kept the Ram..I like my truck...
Very impressive!!!! Curious to what you have had to do to the truck over the years? What do you do to maintain the truck? Oil changes type and so forth?

She gets an oil change about every 5k miles with Rotella (good old Dino oil). I try to remember change the diff and tranny every couple of years. It's on its 3rd clutch. Factory clutch went 275k miles. The next clutch was a Luc. That was junk and ended up taking out the input shaft on the tranny. Third clutch has about 50k in it but I don't think it likes the factory style master/slave cylinder. It's hard to get into gear sometimes. A/C has been replaced a couple times. The sensor on the evaporator went out at one point. Since they were that far into the dash I had them replace anything that moved while they had it apart. 2015 (250k) I left it at the shop while we went on vacation. I told them to replace anything that looked suspect. It was mostly maintenence stuff they did. Valve lash was still good. She started smoking a little out the exhaust after some questionable fuel. My mechanic suggested running some ATF and diesel kleen through the system. That cleared it up. It's routine now to do that. Maybe once a month. May be why it still has the original fuel system. IDK. The interior is still clean. It's had a new console lid and driver seat cushion and seat cover. Dash is still original. It's been a great truck. Never left me stranded (lost the alternator in a trip outta town. 40 miles later and an open dealership I had a new one). I have no intentions of getting rid of it. New ones are too expensive...
