hi HO, hi HO, its far in debt I go . . .

I finally did it. I ordered my new ETH DEE truck yesterday. Looks like I have about two or three months to figure out how to pay for it. Now, where do I learn the secret handshack?

Re:hi HO, hi HO, its far in debt I go . . .

thanks for the warm welcome!

My new baby is an SLT 2500 4x4 Quad Cab short bed, graphite. It has (will have) the HO/6-speed combo. I ordered the 3.73 because I wanted the best fuel mileage and I only tow a maximum of 7500 lbs. I did not get the LSD because anything LSD can do on a slick surface, I can do better with the brakes. Latter, I will get air-lockers for both ends. One thing I think I discovered is that on a 2500 with SO/auto you get the 10.5 Diff but with the HO/6-Speed, you get the 11.5 Diff (standard on the 3500). It does not say that on the Dodge website but if you look at the "window stickers" on the inventories, I think you will find its true.

Latter,
The Boss Hog

Just a quick follow-up. After re-reading my last post, it sounds like I am putting down the guys who ordered the LSD. My was not my intent. :-[ I was only trying to explain why I did not order it. Sorry if I offended anyone.

The Boss Hog

T Boss Hog, Since I live in CA my order had to be Std engine. I pull mountains wherever I go, towing over 10,500 lb. I ordered mine with 5-speed and 4.10 axle. It is configured with 11.5 rear axle. So the heavier rear diff. comes with ETC engine with 460lb-ft of torque. Since 9000# GVWR of all ETC it would make sense to use heavier running gear. I was told that the 10.5 axle is for the standard Hemi V-8. This engine has 375lb-ft of torque thus lighter axle is required. 8) 8)

Boss, it sounds like you ordered what I just got! Only difference I see is I DID get LSD and the Laramie package. I ordered it August 8 and picked it up Saturday. Since I'm replacing a '91 Acura Integra, I'm drivin' my new baby slower than normal - but the trip computer says 19.5 mpg on I95 from Pennsylvania to Virginia. I'm lovin' having all that power!

LonCray, Congads I am sure looking forward to mine ;D I hate to admit it but as a noobie, I have to eat crow already :-[ . I did some searching on the Internet Sunday night and could not find a listing for a Detroit Locker or AirLocker for the new American axles. I panicked and was on the phone to the dealer when they opened this morning. They had not yet sent in my order so I was able to add the LSD. Sometime its easy to outsmart yourself.

Very Humbly Yours,
The Boss Hog

Yeh, FiverBob, wasn't it Timothy Leary that was the priest of LSD?
He burnt out his lights and brain with the stuff. :'(
