Help trace down vacuum leak
Help trace down vacuum leak
I have a 2004.5 that the vacuum pump started running almost continuously. I tried checking the hoses for leaks, but am having trouble finding anything. If I kink the hose in the soft rubber area the pump turns off. Are there any areas that are more likely to leak than others? I took off the zip ties, but the hose looks good underneath. I cant tell if I can feel a leak under the pump or not.....
If you bend the hose and the pump stops, that means there is no leak @ that point to the pump... Try bending the hose a little farther along, away from the pump, till you find it doesn't stop the pump anymore, your leak is between this bend and the previous 1...
Had the same problem - shop actually figured the diaphram in the pump was leaking and replaced that with no results. Turned out to be leaking from a rub in the small diameter soft line.
I didn't find the actual leak until we pulled the whole line out and replaced it with tougher stuff.
