Anyone have your front dually hubcaps turn and take off your valvstem or at least make it leak? Mine have done it twice now. They turn forward, sounds dumb.

I doubt they've moved, those things are on there waaaaaaay to tight to move. It's more likely that when who ever put the hubcaps back on didn't give the stems enough clearance and it rubbed/pushed against the stem causing it to fail.

I had a stem fail on the right front tire once. I took about a 3 hour round trip drive on a Sunday, got home that evening without a problem, then came out the next morning and the right front was completely flat because the base to the stem had failed.

 

I had 2 stems fail on my 04 but this one the caps turn. I replaced the tires and stems last week and in two days the rt cap turned and cut the stem. So I replaced the stem and put the caps on myself. ( I have owned a Bigger repair shop for 25 years) Went hunting in Colorado last week and when a rest stop in Sout dakota checked the caps the rihght one turned Not the left so I just took it off. When i got out there the right onr turned. Anyway the dealer is getting me new ones so we will se. Also I am going to put steel stems in the wheels so I dont have any problems again !

 

my caps turn as well, but i have never had a failure due to it. i guess i better pay a little more attention just incase.
