help with faulty power door lock

the power door lock on my '06 quad cab 2500 passenger side rear door does not work. manual locking/unlocking is fine, until i forget and leave it unlocked unintentionally, or worse, lock the truck (which activates the alarm) and later open the unlocked door and set off the alarm. it was in the shop last May and i asked them to take a quick look at it before i picked it up. in the time the mechanic had, he determined the locking mechanism appeared OK, and that the problem was upstream from the door itself. any suggestions on connections or likely shorts i should check? i'm not well learned with automotive electronics, but do have a voltmeter, so checking for continuity along those circuits should be within my means.

also, the truck has been pitching door ajar fits lately, beeping and flashing cabin lights and cycling the power locks multiple times. this seems to have coincided with very wet weather, so i'm assuming the moisture in a sensor, or something as read elsewhere here at DTR. i'm wondering if this might be related to the rear passenger door lock failure.

many thanks. learning lots here on the forum.

That is normally the case. Let us know if you don't see any broken wires, we'll go further into the troubleshooting.

I'm having the same problem. Also having a satellite radio signal issue as well (Sirius says I have an antenna issue). Does the antenna wires happen to pass through there as well?

I don't know, and I have never seen any issues like that. I would start another thread asking the path of the antenna wire.

Welcome to the DTR.
