I left a store yesterday and drove home. I forgot something in the truck and went back out, hit the power un-lock, all doors unlocked as normal except the drivers door. I can see the know come up about 1/2 way but not enough to unlock. I opened the passengers door and opened the drivers door from the inside and it opened but the inside handle will stay up.

Does this sound like a motor failure or did someone try to slim jim the door?

What is the fix? I am going to take the door apart in a few hours.

 

Sounds like motor failure. Look at wiring especially at left door hinge for damage.

 

I agree with Dozer.. I would check the wires in the flexible boot for damage. I had a similar problem that effected power windows and was a broken wire in the flexible section between door and truck body.

 

My Ramcharger does that, lock will only come up 1/2 way on the first push of the lock switch, have to bump it a couple more times to get it all the way up. Old truck used to do that too, lubed the linkage, no help, ended up swapping th soleniod

 

My truck did the same exact thing last week. It had ice holding the door handle slightly open, like maybe 1/4".
