Headlight Removal

I feel like an idiot asking this. But; exactly how do you replace the light bulbs? I have tried reaching from the bottom and all I was able to do is undo the lock ring. After that I can't do anything else. I've replaced the motor, tranny, clutch, and a lot of other stuff; and you can't tell it. So I'm mechanically inclined. But; these headlights are killing me.

I changed a bulb the other day on an 05, and just undid a few small bolts, and removed the whole lamp. Just took a minute and much easier than trying to just get at the bulb.

The Owner's Manual has some instructions & sketches that show where the bolts are that you need to remove. Then the whole headlight assembly pulls straight to the front - there are spring clips that hold it any after the bolts are removed, so it's a very firm pull - then it pops free and can be pulled out, so you can get to the bulb retainer in the back. Check your Manual - let me know if you don't have it and I'll type in the instructions.

Two bolts next to the radiator and one behind a rubber plug in the fender well. This is the 06 and I think its the same for 05. And as RDM16CTD metioned, pull fairly hard straight out to overcome the spring clips. I am always afraid I am going to brake something, not that I ever have, so I do not pull hard enough.
Good luck,

changing the bulb on the drivers side is fairly easy. reach in there and twist the harness. the pass. side you'll have to remove the air box to make it easier to access the harness. it can be done,...i replaced the bulbs in my 06
