Headlamp/Foglamp switch module

I am going to upgrade to foglamps on my SLT equipted truck. That option was not selected by the former owner. There is a wiring harness on both sides of the bumper for foglamps. The switch in the cab is for non-fogs.I am thinking about buying a head/fog switch module. The wiring in the back of the current switch is a 6 pin setup.I am wondering if this will work,an does the kit come with the new module with the push button/headlamp switch?Thought's?

When I added fog lights to my '07, I purchased a kit from Ebay that had the light assembly's and switch included. I plugged everything in, but had no lights. The module for the fog lights in the ECM had to be activated by the dealer for the fogs to work. My dealer did this for me at no charge...

I picked up a set off Ebay and it came with the proper light switch. I replaced the old switch with the new on and put both lights in under an hour.

I didn't need to have the dealer activate it because it worked right away.

Sorry I don't remember the dealer name who had them on Ebay.

I got just the switch from my dealer for 18 bux.... never got the lights to come on, thanks for the heads up on the dealer activation..... I have an aftermarket bumper now without the fogs on it but I may go and buy some to fit the 4" light holes now..... I doubt the switch can handle the 6" 150w lights.....

Cool

Thanks for the info all, after looking at the wiring it looks good to go.Switch price was $31.00 hard earn taxpaying dallors.Plus the lamp kit around $135.00.Plus $35.00 for dealership to programe the ECU.I still try to beat this cost if any one fines a cheaper site just update the thread. Thanks again.

I grabbed the switch and lights off of another 06 truck. I installed the switch and lights and nothing worked, no headlights or fog lights. I turned the switch on and off a few times in rapid succession and everything worked, no programming.

I just put fog lights on my 04.5. Got it out of a wrecked truck at the junkyard. headlight switch, harness in bumper and the lights themselves. hooked it all up and worked fine. I ordered this truck new without fog lights and had been kicking myself for not getting them at that time. Now i do! woo hoo!
ez

p.s. the fuse and relay was even in the fusebox from factory too!!

What wattage will the stock harness and switch handle? My bumper has 6" holes (came with the truck), so I filled them with PIAA fogs and driving lamps, but I don't like their switches. Would love to go back to the OEM look. I see the wiring harness is in place - at least the connections are hanging there in the bumper.

Use the OEM switch to send power to a relay, then you can run the load from the battery...
