Headlamp Switch

I pulled the switch off, reinstalled it and now it moves smoothly from off to parking to headlamp. I can't remember, but I thought that there should be detents when it moves to parking and headlamp. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

I think its toast.

Ive seen the same happen with the 4x4 switch and it broke the plastic that causes it to stop in position. It would just move freely like the a/c thermostat control.

A new switch had to be purchased.

I talked to someone and they mentioned that there are 2 bearings inside the switch. I was ready to buy a new one, but decided to go open the switch up and found them in there.
