Getting rid of the 02 Alli/Max

My 02 Cheverolet 2500 HD is in the shop again for injectors. Looking now to get an 04.5 2500 CTD. Can anyone in So. New England tell me where a good dealer is. Most of the 04's are gone where I live. Thanks in advance.

Good luck. Getting rid of one bad ijector problem for anouther. I have had injector problems with my 04.5. I have a bad #1 injector and Dodge wont replace it. They claim the problem is not bad enough so too bad. My truck sounds like it going to blow up. My wife who is completely ignorent abought everything automotive even aske what was wrong with my truck. All my freinds that ride in it with the widows down in town laugh at me and my shine new knoking truck. It is so loud that sometimes you cant even hear the engine run over the ticking injector. At least GM stands behind your injectors. All LB7 engines have a 200,000 mile injector warenty on them. Dodge just says to bad it still runs so we wont fix it.

bkrukow , why dont you run that thing over to Cummins and pay the one hour troubleshooting and take the result over to Dodge and tell them to fix it .

Back in April my truck started to lose oil pressure on a 350 mi. trip to Maine. When I left a toll booth in Portsmouth NH I noticed my tire tracks in the road and it was a dry day. The entire passenger side of the truck and undercarriage were bathed in diesel. They replaced 2 injectors then. Now it's 5 months later and maybey 10k miles and the rest of the injectors are going to be changed. Fortunatelly GM is extending the warranty on the injectors to 7yrs. or 200k. That's great about the warranty but this is my daily driver and I need something I can trust. Sorry for the long rant.

Don't assume all engines have injector problems - they don't. I have absolutely no problems whatsoever with mine.

Fat Asp,
I recently purchased a 2004 in Windham at Capital Garage. I think I paid about $750 too much for the 2004, but they did have to find it and bring it down, so there wasn't much room for dealing. I did get a quote from an online dealer from Executive Dodge in southern Connecticut that was for a 2005 and a little less that what I paid. The only reason I didn't go for the 2005 was that it required that I wait for the truck after ordering it. I wanted to make a deal asap.

Check out Holley and Crowley they had trucks when I called, but didn't want to deal as much at the time with me. Good luck, I have had the truck about 3 weeks and 2500 miles, no problems. Negotiate in the high idle cold weather TSB if you get the auto transmission. I did and was glad they wrote down they owed it to me when I left with the truck. When I returned to have it flashed and turned on the dealer tried to get $60.00 out of me. Also go for the $10 block heater cord.

BDP239 thanks for the info. I bought the newest truck trader and Pride Dodge of No. Attleboro seems to have at least 3 SLT 4x4 04's left priced at @33k. Has any members dealt with these guys. My friends a buyer at one of our casinos in the area and he told me to stay clear of them. Thanks again

BDP239 I can't believe they would even think about charging you for a known TSB, that's absurd when you have only 2k on the truck.

When I made the deal I told them that I wanted to have the truck enabled before I picked it up. The salesman and the service manager both told me they never heard of any high idle function. I told them to check the TSB, and that I had it done on my last truck......for $45 at their dealership. The salesman called me back 20 minutes later and said they had found it and the tech was on vacation. My salesman told me at that point it was a TSB and I wouldn't be charged for it. I asked to have it in writing and he wrote it on a "we owe you".

When I spoke with the service manager he said that it was going to be $60 and that even though it was a TSB, Dodge didn't set the truck up with this feature, so break out the wallet if I wanted it enabled!!

I told them, they better find the salesman and have him bring his wallet, because he promised me it would be done. The funny part is they originally told me the job would take at least and hour. After all the nonsense about who was paying, I had a seat in the waiting area. Just poured myself a coffee and was about 1/2 done, when about 10 minutes later they came in to let me know my truck was ready to go.

Crooks!

D.C. would have paid for the TSB on high idle just needed to be written as a CUSTOMER SATIFACTION on the ticket.reps NORMALLY don't have a issue paying these type of claims.at worst they say "well"if it made him happy.Common sense!!!Chezz some of these service depts.make a little thing difficult.Turn many a DAYTIME running light on trucks/cars with almosft NO miles and ran warranty claims on them with NO argument from a D.C.rep.its just a HANDFUL that request it anyway.I'm sure THEY don't have 50 folkes wanting high idle enabled every day.

Fino Dodge in Mendon, Massachusetts (Joe Santa Maria) or you could try Bolles Chrysler in Union, CT right off I-84 at exit 74. I've dealt with both, and they're about as straight as a dealer's gonna be.
