Fuel pump

Looking at stock replacement pumps they list one for short bed one for long bed. What does bed size matter on pump. Napa on lists on pump for 05 diesel. ??

Just a guess- they are two different tanks. Long beds are 36 gallons total capacity and short bed 34 if I'm not mistaken. If it's two different fuel tanks- that might explain two different pumps.
