cquestad,

I'll try to remember to call Gerad this am. I had the same problem this winter. When the weather broke, it went away. Me and a friend goofed around in 20 degree weather trying to figure out where the "clunk" was comming from. Never figured it out. And my friend/neighbor, is a machinest/engineer/mechanic/miracle worker.

I'll post as soon as I get with Gerad.

Mike

I dont know if this applies to anyone but I'll throw it out there. I also developed a noise I couldnt put my finger on. I took it to the dealer and they said it sounds like it was coming from where my running board attached to the body mount. He said a lot of running boards that attach to both the body mount and the rocker panel will make a noise. He put a pry bar on the board and moved it foward about a 1/4 inch and the noise disspeared.

The funny thing is the boards were on there for about 2 weeks before the noise developed. I guess once they settled in the brackets started rubbing.

Just something to look at if all else fails.

John

I just climbed under my new dually ,checking fluids and such and greased the tie rod ends . There was NO grease at all in there ,some watery crap came out but no grease . Took 6 pumps on the gun to see any at all come out of the bushing . Worth a try .

Trac Bar, had a fella stop by the other day with an 04 4x4 with a pop/clunk and found the trac bar bolt at the frame mount was loose.
It needs to be SUPER tight especially if it has been walking around.
