Front Brake Squeel

Has anybody come up with a fix yet
I have installed 2 sets of aftermarket and 1 set of DC Value line disk pads. I have even had the dealer turn the rotors and guess what SQUEEL
Oh, yeah I also have a clunk when you backup and turn the wheel and put your foot on the brakes. The dealer is ordering a caliper (1) for the right front. IMO I think the one on the left front needs replacing also.

Any HELP would be nice

I just ordered the OEM ($115.00) pads and will replace them Tuesday. If the SQUEEL goes away I will let you know. If it doesn't then I'm going to make DC replace the drivers side caliper and refund me for the rotor turning and possibly the pads themself due to a BAD design of the system.

The brake shims, caliper slides lubed and rotor finish is VERY important to keep squeal from happening to start with.

I used to get a product from AutoZone that was something like: "Disc Brake Quiet", came in pouches. You had to spread this red paste/liquid on the back of the pads, let it dry for a while, then reinstall. Took care of all brake squeels on several cars I have had (89 Tempo, 92 Spirit ex.) but I never tried it on a truck. Might work, and was very cheap! Like maybe a buck a pouch (1 per wheel)?

Just past experience.

That product and several others are used on most brake jobs.Dosen't seem like squeal has been a problem on these trucks.I haven't had a brake squeal/squeak on anything in years.Wonder whats going on with this truck.Brakes also need a break in time.To hot too soon and pads/rotors glaze right over.

From my experience if one caliper needs to be replaced........ you have to replace both. Tell the dealer to cough it up.

Replaced front brake pads with OEM $115 pads, guess what
SQUEEL all gone
I will say that the OEM pads were made different than the Value and the TheroQuiet pads I had purchased.
The OEM pads had a different backing on them that was covered up and I had to remove the cover paper, the metal backs of the pads were also cut different, they had beveled edges vice the normal square cut pieces of metal
I still have th clunking from the right front caliper when I backup and hit the brakes to stop. I'm still waiting for the dealer to get the caliper to replace it
We will see what happens
