its at the bottom of the windshield, the air hits the glass and goes in the vents. when you spray lysol in there make sure your air controll in not on recirculate setting or it won't work it has tobe pulling the air from outside. the smell is mold from the moister on the evaperator coil mine was doing the samething alittle lysol fixed it right up.

Guys, something I've done since the truck was new to avoid any funny mildewy smell when the a/c is on, is turn off the a/c 1- 2 miles (assuming it's not unbearable) before my destination, but leave the fan/blower on. This blows air thru the system and dries it out so you don't shut down with all of that condensation etc everywhere in the system. Keeps the mildew/mold down. I read about doing that on this site or another a few years back, and it has worked for me since.

Not sure why water doesn't get in there, there may be channeling/drain holes for that.

The cab-fresh air filter system that geno's sells snaps right down into those vents at the base of the windshield. They don't really do much for smell like they advertise, however they do keep the dust/pollen in the cab way down.

Exactly! Turn the air off and leave the fan run for a few miles. I do the same thing and no funny smells. This was the cure for BMW's same problem in the past.

Now I found the vent I emptied a whole can of "Spring Air" Lysol or some such smell in the vent while running the fan. Smells better, much like spring, even if only temporary.

A few minutes in Houston at 96 deg some would say is unbearable.

Thanks for the help

Yeah, thought about turning hte A/C off before I shut the truck off.

That lasted about 1 day. It's amazing how fast the truck gets hot inside without the A/C going.
