I know. I like the 05's but figured if I can get an 06 at a good price then I'll just get that one. The 06's have different interior and alittle different front end. Is there any other difference????

Well....The 05's interior is so much better that it seems as if the two trucks came from different manufacturers. 05' interior is textured and has a high end almost european look and to it.

The 07' interior may very well be the worst use of plastics in any modern conveyence on the market...Its honestly that bad. Big slabs of cheap tasteless plastic. Not very well exucuted. Definately a cost cutting measure on Chrysler's part as the interior is absolutley "De-Contented" from the 05' model to the 06' redesign.

I now prefer the 06" headlights though. they are more in step with "Now". The 05's headlights seem so... Early 2000-ish? The new style headlight which I didnt like when I owned my 07' I now much prefer. They strike me as modern and "Now" with a bright shining outlook....The 05 looks dark and ....Muddled in comparision. Wish I could swap my lights out but it would take a set of fenders a Grille, and new front bumper cover....Yikes! Looks like I'm going old school for the next 4 years.....

Sadly by 2012 my 2005 will look horribly dated. But...It sho-Nuff has a nice interior!

Which do I like better? gawd thats a tuff one. I can ride in a far better excuted interior whilst my truck looks like its 6 years old...Or I could ride in an interior that was designed by hateful bean counting demons....

I say 05' as I'm old enough to not care what folks think of how old my truck is and its much more pleasing for me inside...

I kind of like the 05's interior too, but I'm not going to let that stop me from getting the 06. I have 3 young kids so the interior tends to get dirty anyway.

The fresh look of the 06's headlights will more than make up for the crummy dash.....It will look the same as an...08!!

After conversing back and forth with Pete on his truck for the past week or two I'm exccited to see how it ends up!!!

Whenever I buy a new car or pursue a new babe (Pre-Married) It wasnt the "Kill" per se, It was "The thrill of the chase". Petes chase is in full swing. D

Dont forget to post some photos!

Chazmanian, The guy that was suppossed to trade in the 06 with 105,000 is dragging his feet so the dealer found an 07 5.9 with 4,000 miles on it. After they get my truck as a trade, I can get it for $24,700 which includes Tax, Title, all fees out the door. It is bright silver like yours. I told them get the truck so I should have it by the end of the week. I'll let you know. Pete

Yesssssss. Luckeeeeeeee.... Personally I liked having the factory warranty. I even used it several times already.

Tranny TSB for GPVS.
Track bar replaced.
Tie rod at pittman replaced.
Aligned.
Bolts on trackbar retorqued.
Caster set.

I'm looking into a PSC steering brace. I'm not 100% happy with the steering in these trucks....I have pressed hard for ball joints on warranty but they arent shot enough yet. Key word is enough. My long term plan is some Moog front end crap with the PSC brace.

With just 4K on that rig you will have many miles worth of "Freebies". Funny now that I'm about out of warranty the front end is feeling creepy. Little bit of wander and some funky play.

Whats yer' 97' worth to that dealer pete? Probably nothingness? Maybe you could do better if you bought the 07' outright without a trade as the Cummins fanatics will give you way more moolah than a greasy wholesaler who shows up at the dealership towing turds off the back lot.

Something tells me your truck isnt quite a back lot turd Pete. Post a photo here and ask the fellas what they are bringing on Craigslist or e-Bay.

Post up the photos O' the new Rig' Pete! And stay away from the evil programmers, big exhuast and air filter stuff..... Yeah right.

I have tried relentlessly to sell the 97 on Craigslist, here in the classifieds, and on TDR. Lots of calls and no one wants to come see it or buy it. The PA winters with the salt have taken a toll on the doors and rocker panels. I think the rust scares everyone away. I was trying to sell it for $7500 and the dealer is giving me 7000 for it. So if no one comes by Friday, It's theirs. I post pics as soon as I get it. Should be Friday. Just have to wait on the money from the bank. Pete

Hmmm.... I see. Suppose its time to let er' go the way of the backlot then. Heres a question though Pete. If and this is a big "If" you didnt have a trade in would the delaer be wanting....

$24,700
+$7000
= $31,700.00 For his truck?

They actually got it cheaper than that. Takeing 7000 off saved me another 500 in taxes and there was tax, title and fees factored into that 24,700. The actual price was somewhere between 29,000 and 30,000. Kelly Blue book puts the truck at 37,000. I am actually really could friends with the owner of the dealership so I know I'm not getting screwed. Dealt with him and no salesman.
