first tow at 1000 miles ???
first tow at 1000 miles ???
what is considered a light tow for the first tow at 1000 miles?? do you really stay at approx 50 and below for first tow???
was thinking about towing my old Nisson 4 cyn. truck on a trailer before I sell it... I don't really have anything else to tow... THis way I could hopefully break the truck in right and start to get the fuel milage going the right way...
ps: 04.7 600, auto

If you have 1000 miles on it, have at it! I initially towed our previous 5th wheel starting at 500 miles. Just watch the gauges and keep your ears open. To give the differential gears a chance to seat a little more under towing loads, I'd vary your speeds a bit and avoid long runs at extremely high speeds.

1000 miles should be plenty to let your gears break-in. RustyCJ is right on the money, always keep an eye on the gauges (install others as well
) and tow away!
RustyCJ Question for ya: When you got your CJ what level of rust was ordered from the factory? My CJ8 must have been ordered with the heavy rust oprion
as it's been out west all it's life and still has a bunch of rust!
