It only took about 5 minutes to peel the chrome off each wheel. HOWEVER, getting the glue off was a different strory. It took many hours of hard work to get the stuff off all 5 wheels. I was pretty sure I was going to like the result so all the work didn't bother me.

 

I've always preferred black or black anodized rims.

The 17" forged alloys are good quality rims. I wonder if you could have them professionally stripped and powder coated? Depends on how durable the finish would be. I think you'd have to be careful powder coating around the lug holes to make sure the lugs don't hang up.
