finally pulled the trigger

after putting up with my steering box leaking and having a new one in the shop, I got mad today and was fed up with the wondering. I went and bought the late model steering components and came home and went to town. 1.5 hours later and took for a drive and BOY, gonna have to learn to drive this thing again. Steering is very responsive (comparatively speaking to the old worn out garbage).

Going to save the coins and buy a Bilstein dual stabilizer set up. Have a bit of bump steer with only a single stabilizer on but I LOVE IT.

new box (traded work for a brand new unit)
t-rex steering brace $200
new steering linkage $280
a quart of fluid $6
1.5 hours of labor in the dark

PRICELESS

Got it for ya, Ill stick it in the non drivetrain.

Glad to see it worked out. I noticed yesterday on the trip home I took a different route, road was pretty rough, and Im getting a bit of a clunk in the steering. Just barely noticeable through the steering wheel. Gonna have to look at this.

well to be truthful, I was about .250" away from buying one a couple weeks ago. local dealer his humping my leg to buy my truck, they had an inferno red long bed, fully loaded, leather, nav etc with manual transmission and I started drooling but thought, I only have 26 payments til mine is mine, then I would have to lift it, wheels, tires, bombs etc and would BE HOSED lol

So I kept mine and going to just do the manual tranny conversion here soon. Taking the bodylift off this weekend and getting ready. Down to needing a double disc clutch then its game on
