A Few Snow Pics
Yeah me too! haven't ever had to use 4x4 before this. I gotta say though its pretty much useless in 2wd with an empty bed. In 4x4 though I was pretty impressed. There were quite a few steep hills on the windy 6 mile dirt road TomTom sent me on to get home, much of the road I was the only vehicle to drive it since the snow. All in all did better than I expected such a heavy vehicle with mud tires to do, so I'm happy with it
We got about 3 inches of very powdery low land snow here. Very compact on the roads, now tonight ice. I went all up and down most of the hills no problem and no weight in the back. Just that lump of cummins in the front for great traction. Kids had a good time sledding. Fun times.
This weekend is going to a b*tch from the weather report. More snow and lots of wind.

I'm running in about 9 inches of the white stuff and with hiway tread tires. Most of the time I use 2 wheel drive and only pop it into 4X4 to pull away from stop signs or start up some of the hills.
must be global warming! i am in western new york (niagara falls area) we have been getting hammered all day! have 10 inches right now. mega wind, causing huge snow drifts. suppose to stop later this evening-but calling for more snow saturday night!

We had some snow down here that sat on the ground a couple of weeks ago, I was working in Mobile and didnt get to see it. Last time that happened was 1987... Would love to see white like that.
Might be an idiot, but how does one go about inserting the pics into the post like that instead of adding them as an attachment. TIA

[QUOTE=D45;2321171]We just got 1/2" thick layer of ice.....no snow
Hey D45, where are you located? I'm in Warsaw. Looking at your truck made me glad mine was in the garage last night. We had a mix of snow rain and ice. Nothing like plowing through 3" of slush!

We got about 5" here yesterday and they say more to come overnight into tomorrow. Truck did awesome with the new Toyo's and about 240lbs of steel in the bed of the truck. Used 4wd only on the side roads, country roads were great. Nice pics of your truck 052500.
This will be the 3rd winter running Bridgestone 250 and I don't think there is more of a highway tread than these.. The last 2 season went well in the snow just need to be a little careful when it gets icy..
05 CTD2500- You are correct as the weight of the engine helps the traction when the beast is in 4x4.. The way they salt in my area it is very rare to have snow left on the roads for to long...
