Factory Paint Work Question...?
...just wondering how the factory paint is holding up on some of the later year trucks?
Reason I ask, some of the Silver Dodges look very dry, not much gloss in the paint. Also, I'm seeing a lot of orange peel and flutter on other colors especially Black.
I remember back in the mid 90's some of the paint was falling off these trucks in sheets and exposing the primer! The paint started to fall off my new truck back in 1988 after the first year of ownership!
Reason I ask...I (may) consider a new Dodge 4x4 Diesel 4-door short bed.
Thanks for any feedback.

Haven't had any problems with my 97, except for the plastic fenders fading. That's a problem because of the plastic! Paint has held up great on my friends' newer trucks as well.

I used to think it as alright till I got hit with an egg and it lifted the paint and if my kids open the door with anything in their hands and it touches the paint, it can scratch easily.
I wax it religiously and hand wash it.
My truck was painted in Mexico which is supposed to be the good paint.
