ez drain plug or finger touch

No I don't. It actually has a little lip it sits in. You must clear the lip in order to open the valve. I had all these concerns when I bought mine, figured what the heck and went for it.
My thought process was, if indeed id did open, I would clearly be able to see the 3 gallons of oil on the ground.
I plow, take the truck into the woods and have never had a issue. The valve sits up pretty high and out of the way.

the fumoto is great, i have had it on my truck now for multiple oil changes with out any issues. makes the changes really easy. unless you literally go rock crawling - you should hae zero issues with ground clearance. once fully threaded in, it is quite strong and VERY well protected by the front axle/diff. i also have nothing on mine to keep it from opening. it requires action/force in two directions at once to open. i just threaded and re-threaded until the tab was pointing rearwards just for the peace of mind.
i had a friend install the ez drain (flush with green tube one) at the same time as me and it ended up costing him a lot of money. during one oil change the retainer and spring popped out of his valve and remained inside his oil pan out of fingers/tool reach via the tiny hole. it is brass so magnet didn't work either. ended up towing it to cummins and they had to remove the oil pan to get to it (requires hoisting the engine)!!!

Yep. I put a small hose clamp to prevent the one in a million chance of the valve opening. Completely unnecessary, but that's just me. Collecting oil samples is much easier without the "deluge or nothing" drain factor of the stock plug.
I have the Fumoto valve on the Cummins. The advantage is that you can drain the oil directly into old oil jugs, rather than into a bucket and then into the jugs. Yes, a torque wrench works. But this works better.
I'v been using these valves on various vehicles for many years. Never once had a failure.

I bought a Fumoto. It's been sitting on the shelf waiting for the next oil change to put it on. Only thing I'm wondering is the hole is awful small. How long does it take to drain completely?
