So I was thinking about detailing the engine compartment and was wondering who all has done the same. I am planning on ordering a AEM Workhorse intake with the polished tube, and was also thinking of changing out some of the hoses to some silicone hoses (thinking red), to kind of clean up the engine compartment and make it a little showyer. Who has done this to their trucks and do you have any pics, and or bennifits of any upgrades you have done to your engine bays.

 

I'd never cleaned mine (was afraid of hurting electronics) till last trip to the dealer. He spilled oil or tranny fluid during my 3000 mi service and he drove over to the wash bay and steam cleaned the engine. He didn't cover any electronics and the engine was probably warm as he'd had it ideling to check tranny fluid level. I spray silicone over everything. It stops metal from rusting, keeps plastic shiny and won't attract dirt like Armour All.
