Goo and nasty funk all over my engine bay.
I apologize for all the threads but I think all of them are separate to some extent and should be targeted to their specific specialists.
I think starting a topic that says “hey I’ve got problems” probably wont draw the insight and experience I need to get my truck back on the road in a timely fashion.
Anyway, goo.
Its EVERYWHERE!
I have go covering the front of my engine, my front steering components (one assumes from what I believe to be a crank case vent, all over my fan shroud, I couldn’t even read my power steering cap yesterday when I went to check it
And I’m not missing any fluids that I know of (Oil, trans, gear, P/S, nothing.)
Do fan clutches have goo in them? If so that might explain the nasty squeak I’ve picked up.

What he said.
No doubt, take it down and clean it out. Spray the area with degreaser. It'll stay nice and purdy for about 6 months, then it will be crudy again. Some guys do a relo, or elimination and run a tube back over the front diff.

reroute the crank blow off with some rubber hosing to the mid area of your truck. Get rid of the junk breather bottle, they are worthless. I rerouted mine and cleaned it up all nice and pretty and it has stayed that was since

Pull your shroud and really check to make sure the rad is not plugged. Come summer it can really play havoc on temp issues, causing you to think thermostat, when all it is, is a rad plugged with dirt from sticking to the goo/blowby from the bottle.
