DRW tire rotation?

I'm about due for a tire rotation. Wondering what is the proper rotation pattern for a DRW.

My manual shows the procedure as swapping the fronts and the inside duals diagonally, and swapping the outside duals from side to side. Every other rotation I've been swapping the outside duals to the front just for some variation. This has been working for me and I've got 60k on my OEM General's with maybe 10k remaining, maybe more.

Every time I take mine in for rotation, I have to number the tires with stickers and draw a map for the worker.

I've always ran the inside duals to the front and the front to the inside duals. Once they get to where you can't get the feather edges flattened out, throw the outside duals on the front.

I generally get 80,000 miles out of a set of 50,000 mile M/C A/T's or M/T's. I've been through 6 or 7 sets after using up the OE supplied G/Y SR-A's.

Diagonally, huh. That goes against conventional wisdom with regard to radials. I was always told that swapping radials diagonally can cause problems because of the way the steel belts wear-in, sort of making the tire directional after a number of miles. Maybe the newer tires are built so that is no longer an issue. I would imagine the manual would be the best source for correct info. Never even thought to look there. Thanks.

LOL!
Do you ever wonder if they just do what they want and then just put the stickers where the map says?

That was back in the day. The steel belts use to run across from bead to bead. They now run diagnally at a huge angle, which help eliminate the belts from bending in the rotation of the tire. They can be criss-crossed for rotation.
