DPF delete tuner

I'm new to the site and new to diesels. I have a 2008 dodge ram 2500 and id like to delete the dpf but I do live in a emission state. That being said all I'd like to do is remove the filters but not the complete egr system. My hope is that I can simply put filters back on and set tuner to stock to pass emissions once a year. I'm also not looking for big hp gains, just want the dpf filter gone! I've had the 80% full come on twice in the last month. So im wondering which tuner is the best for my application. Any help is appreciated.

First thing to do is read about the Cali deletes here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...-right-273345/

As for a tuner you have Raceme and EFI. Raceme is more expensive and EFI has two price points to consider.

Thank you for the link, I have read that before but no I don't have to go looking for it.

I was looking at raceme but ended up going with h&k mini max. I hope I didn't make a bad decision.

Is there anything I need to worrie about as far as set up with mini maxx? I don't plan on running it on the hot setting. Either stock or mild setting.

Not really, just do the install as it says. Buy the trans tune unlock code too, or you will after a short while.

Ok cool.
How about the defueling settings? I don't completely understand what it does so Is this something I should mess with or just leave alone.

Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it.

Hi, we are sorry that you did not buy our raceme tuner, which we consider the best on the market, but as with our tuner, the installation should be very simple. Be careful of the correct connections and fix the cables properly to avoid disconnection. Then just set up the tuner according to the manufacturer's instructions and install the current software. According to our instructions, wiring and installation is done in 10 minutes without help

Having done the California deletes on my '08, I would recommend doing the full deletes.

You still get a lot of soot in the EGR cooler and valve, and it gums up the system still. The cleaning/parts kit from Geno's Garage is the way to go for getting it all cleaned up.

Once I get it ready for emissions testing, I will be doing the full delete on mine and shelving all my parts in a lock box.
