Door Locks

I've had my truck now for almost a year and up until this morning when I shut the engine down and turn the key off, all of the doors will unlock. This morning when I turned the key off everything stayed locked. I started it drove it forward a couple of parking spaces and turned it off again, still nothing. The only thing I can think of is that yesterday I wasnt paying attention and hit the unlock button on the key about seven times, would this have anything to do with it?

I've seen other posts of doors not unlocking, do a search.

I think they were binding on something though.

Mine started when I had an alarm added and sometimes it unlocks and sometimes not...annoying!

Check your owners manual, on my wife's van, you use the remote to set the autolock feature. It's a Nissan but our trucks may work the same.

From page 19 of the owners manual: Auto Unlock Feature

this feature unlocks all of the doors of the vehicle when any door is opened. this will occure only after the vehicle has been shifted into the Park position after the vehicle has been driven (shifted out of Park and all doors closed)this feature will not operate if there is any manual operation of the power door locks (Lock or Unlock)

From page 20 of the owners manual: Auto Unlock Feature Programming

1) enter vehicle and close all doors

2) fasten seat belt (cancels any chimes that may be confusing during this programming procedure)

3) insert the key into the ignition

4) within 15 seconds, cycle the key from the LOCK position to the ON/RUN position a minimum of 4 times ending in the UNLOCK position (DO NOT START THE ENGINE)

5) WITHIN 30 SECONDS, press the drivers door lock switch in the UNLOCK direction

6) a single chime will sound to indicate the feature has been changed

7) repeat the above steps to enable or disable this feature

8)if a chime is not heard, program mode was canceled before the feature
could be changed, if necessary repeat the above procedure

To change the Automatic Door Lock feature follow the directions above EXCEPT IN STEP 4 END IN THE LOCK POSITION, AND IN STEP 5 MOVE THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK SWITCH TO THE LOCK DIRECTION
(locks doors when speed exceeds 15 mph)

Hope this helps.
