Does it Rub?
Does it Rub?
I'm considering the bushwhacker fenderflares, the ones with the indents and exposed bolt heads. I'm courious if anyone has them and if they rub the paint. I have the factory mud flaps and they rub the paint. its disapointing to put something on to protect the truck and have it actually damage it. Please be honest, I don't want to find out the hard way, Thanks guys, LCH
I just got those exact flares painted to match my truck and they have a small rubber strip that stops plastic to paint contact. I think they will still rub, however I don't plan on taking mine off. I also had the body shop install that 3M rockguard on the insides of mine($100CDN). I haven't installed them yet, body shop said to let paint cure for 3 days. I didn't want the paint to get too beat up, my buddy has a white truck and his looks like it has tar under the flares where the rocks took off the paint.
yeah, I'm close to doing it anyway. Yesterday I had to go back in a field and it's been raining here for a couple of days so when I came out I had hunks of mud on the roof. I don't off road my truck (thats what the jeep is for) but I have to get in the mud around some of the job sites. The other thing I've noticed since it's been raining is the road spray wraps around the mirrors and I can't see out of them very well. So i'll most likely get them soom, I just hate the idea of them rubbing the paint. So far I don't have any signifigant rock chips. LCH

I love mine, they do take a little abuse but it is better that the truck. I was able to attach the factory mudflaps also fronts on the rear and rears on the front. It turned out like they were meant to be that way.[IMG]

...road spray on the mirrors....interesting little problem..
....I suppose you could fabricate a small "extension" for the bottom of the mirror, just enough to change the airflow envelope, which might eliminate this? I don't have that issue, perhaps because my truck isn't at stock height;
