does leveling hurt mileage?

I have been tolt that a leveling kit even as small as 2 inches can hurt mileage. is this true? anyone actually experienced a drop in fuel economy? wonder why? cant just be the additional 2 inches of air drag?

Gotta be from trying to shove more air under the truck instead of over it.
Sounds plausible.

YES!!! I saw a 2mpg drop with my old fords.
the dodge has seam to only loose like 1/2 mpg.
Like i keep saying i wish i had gone with the 1 1/2 lift not the 2in! just did not need the extra 1/2 in....

let some air out of your tires...

so you only have 1 1/2" lift

Its not the leveling kit, but the bigger tires you are more likely to put on.

On my ford i ran the 35 mt's with some bumper ajustments. then added the lift. the milage took a nose dive!

with the Dodge you may be corect on the tire thing. it did change the power as well!

what's this about tire prussure??? if the tire is not cupping and is wearing flat then it must be the right pruessure right?

CORRECT....it's the bigger tires that hurts your mileage...not the height change...
