my current '03 truck is number 14 [I think] and is for a fact the most dangerous headlight on any truck I've owned and my first truck had generators. I live in a hilly area and these headlights will not light the road, if comming to a hill, verticle. They do a dang good job of lighting up the fields on both sides of the road. The '06-'07 look different. Hope they fixed their problem.

There are quite a few upgrades out there, do a forum search for bright boxes, HID upgrades, silverstar bulb upgrades like above, or complete headlight assembly replacements-I replaced mine with some found on ebay, and after quite a bit of aiming I am happy with the improved lighting, as well as looks. I believe you can also upgrade the bulbs in the foglights, if you have them.

I adjusted my headlights to shine down the road further and they are much better. When new it seemed like the headlights were pointed on the ground immediately in front of the truck. I put in silverstars too but I can't tell they did that much, different color though.

I agree, that over difuse light pattern sucks. To combat that-
I installed piaa 1500 clear driving lights in the bumper slots. I beamed them between hi and lo beam. They light up the road and down the road nice under hi and lo.

I have yet to get a difinative answer as of yet but here goes again. Have they upgraded the headlight wireing from the 02 1500 body style? I replaced the stock bulbs with the after market bulbs and ended up having to replace my plugs do to them melting from the extra heat. I was told by several people that it was common and some times burnt to the box as well. I do not want to go thru that again.

I'd go with Silverstar Ultras or GE Nighthalks. I went with the Nighthawks and adjudted my lights up a bit. Big improvement.

2004.5 fog light upgrade

Guys, looked around on the Internet quite a bit and came up a driving light that will fit in the 2003-2005 fog light location Dodge Ram. It has a special bracket that comes with it that will replace the stock fog light and it is adjustable vertical and horizontal. Comes also with a heavy duty wiring harness that will eventually end up inside with a toggle switch mounted inside wherever you want it. It includes the fuse box to mount inside the engine compartment. Also comes with a H3/55 watt bulb but I upgraded that bulb to a H3/100 watt bulb. After readjusting my stock headlights and using these driving lights it does light the roads now. I'm using stock 55/65watt lightbulbs and it has been working great. I have used all the blue bulbs, purple bulbs and every other kind of Xenon bulbs have gave them a toss because I want white/clear bulbs. I didn't use the wiring harness because I had a Brite Box installed before and it comes with heavy duty wiring harness that will turn on all three lights when using High Beams. A very satisfied with this setup so far. The driving lights has clear lens and they look like the OEM fog lights. I found thes at Ultimate Auto Accessories (www.ultimateautoaccessories.com) for $99.99 with free shipping on orders 100,00 dollars and up. I know that you guys that are not satisfied with these lights and having to pay out the ying yan for the HID lights will be satisfied.....thats
