Defroster not switching

I am starting to have trouble with my defroster in my truck. It seems to not want to switch from vent to heat or defrost. If I get lucky and hit a bump it will sometimes switch. Does this sound like the blend door or do I have electrical problems? Thanks in advance ffor the help

Do you hear it switch? Any noise from the dash area when it does switch? eaither the heat/ac head is bad(dash conrol) or a door in the dash is broken or binding. You need to narrow down which issue you have.

I do not hear any noises when it switches, so it sounds like it is leaning toward the dash switch.

Mine does the same thing. Keep us posted on what you find. I have not figured it out yet.

Mine does this also, in the winter, I have figured out to just leave it on the defrost setting all the time. If I forget, it will switch over after the truck warms up if I switch the fan on and off a few times. I have not figured out the problem yet but is annoying especially with frost on the windows.

Guys I am having the same problem. I fought this problem all winter. When I was driving in a rain storm late this spring I noticed that when I turn the a/c on it will switch from the vents to defrost. Give that a try. Maybe someone with a little better understanding of these systems will be able to give us more info with this discovery that I made.

Has anyone tried turning the A/C on to see if it would switch from the vents to the defrost on there trucks? Or is my truck the only one that will do this?
