Though I've never experienced it, many have. Search for 'death wobble', you will be overwhelmed with information from previous discussions. This one has been talked about for years and there are probably hundreds of posts on it.

Sway bar end links on this truck belong on a smart car. Some numbers guy at
Chrysler figured out how to save money so the union guys could get their agreed increases.... I called Larry at Maxx Links.com and ordered some end links for 100.00 shipped and put them on and it rides like almost new!
Next i will change the oil filled(crap)steering damper.
Check your sway bar end links they have rubber bushings Maxx Links are
polyurethene. No more noise(chatter) stopped some of the ups and downs
and shakes from left to right.
Also like the gentleman said check out the million threads on the death wobble
topic.
Good luck.

Are you running stock tires?

Since the death wobble has been beat to death, I won't comment. I know I'm getting my steering components replaced on my '05 before the extended warranty expires though. I WILL experience several episodes of death wobble before the warranty runs out. Guaranteed.

Not to change the subject but...who did you get your extended warranty through?

Chrysler. 6 year/75K bumper to bumper with a $100 deductible. I paid $1,200 for it when I bought the truck new. It's already paid for itself. I only have 35K miles on the truck right now, so I'm not worried about the mileage part of it. I just want to get all the bugs worked out before November 2010.

The bad part is that I'm afraid to put any mods on the truck, so I leave it bone stock.

They also gave me a 2.9% loan through Chrysler Financial, so I put zero down on the truck. Plus I got a great price on the truck at Chaprell Dodge in Ada, Oklahoma.

I'm very happy with the whole deal, even with the steering box issues I had.

..do a search on it , LOTS of info. on it here and elsewhere.

No one has an end-all-cure-all for it yet.

If you didn`t have it before the leveling kit , I`d say you need to have it aligned by someone who knows lifted trucks...it will very likely fix it.

...you aren`t running 315 (35s) BFGs are you?

....and it that doesnt' work what's next? FWIW I've removed four "leveling kits" in the past 6mos to "fix" used trucks that people purchased.

I also have a customer with an 06 that is in denial and won't take his level kit off. So far: updated steering linkage, different tires, third steering stabilizer configuration, adjustable track bar, caster is maxxed at 4 degrees, different shocks......

...forgot...second set of tires. Had BFG's and "read on the net" that their were lots of issues with them. He keeps asking me what to do, and besides removing it I don't know what to tell him.

What I don't understand is how it seems to vary from truck to truck. My 04 has been leveled since 8,000miles and never had death wobble at all. Now at 118,000 and still on original track bar and mostly everything else. I did just order some new sway bar links for the heck of it. I have a guy here who has a stock 07 and has tried everything to get rid of it and it isn't leveled or anything.

Before you read this whole thread--I'll tell you up front I don't have a cure for DW. As has been said before there are pages and pages of information about DW. I have read most all of them and have learned the following. There is no one cause of DW. What causes DW on your truck may not cause DW on mine. What fixes DW on your truck may not fix it on mine. The only common thread I have found is a lot of people that have DW have had BFG tires size 315. However many many people that have that same tire don't have DW and have never had DW. If I have any recommendations I would say check the following--wheels, tires, alignment, ball joints, shocks, tie rod ends, steering stablizer, steering box and linkage and any other front end part you can think of. It maybe one or a combination of parts. I'm sorry, there is no magic bullet that I have found and I haven't heard of anyone else that can say for certain they have found one thing that cures it in every case. Good luck on your search--it ain't a fun trip!!!
