Dealer Wants my Truck

Just got a letter from the local dealer here in San Jose wanting to buy my 06 3500 Mega 4X4 for $21,617 with no new purchase necessary. KBB says around $24K for a trade-in and around $28K for a private sale...WOW now i feel like I really bought at the right time! Has anyone else in the country seen this kind of offer?

I have gotten a few letters like that... it's a scam. No way the dealer would ever give you anything worthwhile... mine was for a trade in...

I almost did it a few years ago... It would have been an ok deal, almost the same payments, just longer.

With it being payed off, and the upgrades so far, she will be with for a long time...the registration also went down to $428 this year!

Yeah, same here. The thoughts to trade were before I went off the deep end...

Ahh hahaha I get those offers too. They sent those things so much they ticked me off and I went down to the dealership. I told them I like my truck too and I'm keeping it so don't ask again. Also requested they remove me from their list immediately. FYI it re-ups you the next service you go in for, even TSB or recall. You have to request to be removed again. I also get colds asking if we're considering buying a new car. I flat out said "no" with apparently perfect timing and in a tone that the guy on the other end of line found pretty funny. He wished me a good afternoon in an understanding tone and didn't continue with the spiel I'm certain he had.

I don't even mess around anymore with solicitors. I'd clock them all in the knee cap with a baseball bat if I could. I realize the people are all working for a living, but go find something other than bothering me.

Mine went "down" to $384. What a deal. Thanks California. The sunshine tax nails us here. Thank goodness for Prop 13 or we'd really get hosed.

I get an occasional notice saying my poor old truck is in desperate need of a TSB recall adjustment! LOL
I don't need or want any stupid back up alarm and all the rest were already done and the new K1 update was held up as long as I could until they wouldn't register it anymore. ROTFLMAO.
I just throw them things in the trash.

I got one of those letters today. I thought about sending it back and ask for $30,000 cash. I got to thinking that I would not take that amount because I would have to buy another and pay more and still not have a truck any better than the one I have even though it is 11 years old.

I like my truck!!!!

Glad I live in the "Good" Republic...

Here in Texas with my Veteran's disability rating, mine is only $3 (Three dollars).

Yeah, $75/year in Jersey (depends on GVWR) and DMV doesn't care if you get recalls/TSB's done. They won't refuse to renew your reg.
