de-badging

What are some easy ways to de-badge your vehicle? Are most of the badges glued down?

they are all just glued on,
what you do is just blow dry it just to get the glue soft then you get some fishing line and run it trough the back of it and it should just pop right off then you clean it up with some soap and water and then put some goo-gone one you get it all the glue off i would put some wax in those areas.

All the badges are held on by 3M tape. Use fishing line to "saw" off the badge and use something like goof off or rubbing alcohol to get the rest of the tape off. Some have used magic erasers with success to get the extra tape off.

Hope this helps

another i found that worked pretty **** good after removing them to clean the glue off is to heat the excess glue up and then just keep tacking duct tape on the glue and it pulls it right off. The goo gone and wd40 and everything else didn't work to good for me

I've de-badges 4 of my past trucks succesfully. This one was a nightmare. The paint under the badges was messed up and the clear coat ended where the badges began.....like it was sprayed after the badges were on. I have to stick the badges back on.....it sucks.

I hope you have better luck than I did.

go to napa and get the 3m eraser that goes in a drill and use it to get the adhesive off, then clean any left over residue with gue gone. it was quick and simple I tried other solvents and it was taking forever, the eraser worked great.

I used a plastic squeegy and Goo Gone, worked pretty well, but it took forever to get the adhesive off(well the doors anyway), the tailgate came off easier for some reason...

Doing it again, id go pick up one of the 3m wheels($30~)

3M adhesive remover. You can buy it at an automotive paint store. The tape behind the emblems is like a sponge. Apply the adhesive remover, let it soak in for a while (10 minutes+) and the emblems will peel off with fishing line like a knife through butter. Rub the rest off with a rag and wax. Done, and it looks good.

Someone has done some paint work on your truck , because they don`t paint them with the emblems on from the factory...
