De-Badging

I’ve de-badged the tailgate of my 2500, removing “Dodge” , “4x4” and dealer’s name plate. Just used a hair dryer to heat the decals up a little and a credit card to start the peeling off process. Real EZ. It really looks great, real clean, and it gives the truck an individual look.

I’m thinking about removing the plastic 2500 emblem from the sides of the doors also. Does anyone know if they are just held on with adhesive or are they fixed to the doors with pins which would leave holes if removed. I certainly don’t want to have to get into body work if there are any attachment pin holes under there.

Thanks in advance.
Re:De-Badging

Would it be 3M adhesive remover?

Re:De-Badging

Had to call the 'ol ladys dad to find out what it was. He uses some stuff from pittsburgh paint called PPG Acryllic clean DX330 Wax & Grease Remover. ??? Him and his son are pretty **** about their vehicles so I guess this stuff works pretty good...

Re:De-Badging

We all did that one night. We stripped like 3 trucks. We used the 3M remover. It works. Be sure to heat them badges first with a hair dryer.

That keeps it from getting too hot. Use fishing line to get behind it and it will come right off.

Re:De-Badging

Bestine also works great. It's a rubber cement reducer and is available from art supplies dealers.
