Dash Wiring

So, I pull apart the dash to remove the radio in favor of the new REC NAV unit arriving tomorrow. Got it all apart thanks to posts found on this forum. Anyway, there are four wiring connectors that are snapped back into the dash that don't go anywhere. I've numbered them 1 through 4. 1 and 2 are the same type of connector with the same wiring, 3 is a small connector and 4 is a larger connector with large gauge wires.
I'm thinking the wiring is for possible upgrades......
My thoughts: 1 and 2 are for heated seats, 3 is the power slider window and 4 is the dual zone temperature controls.
Anyone have a Laramie dash apart to see what wiring goes where?
Thoughts?

Thanks!

I would say you're correct. I have everything you mentioned and have also been in there several times. Mine doesn't have any connector that lead to nowhere.

From pouring over the wiring schematics of the truck, the connectors are as follows:
1 - Heated Seat, Driver
2 - Heated Seat, Passenger
3 - Unknown, I can't find it in the diagrams
4 - Power Sliding Rear Window

It appears that the wiring for 1,2 & 4 are in place on SLT models. Both in the dash and at the termination points under the front seats and behind the rear seat. Seems like an easy upgrade to heated seats as well as a power rear window.

I like how DC made little holes in the dash to snap the unused connectors into so they wouldn't rattle around.

My dash looks almost the same. I've been wondering about trying to find out which wires would be for the lighting of the switches and using that to power some l.e.d.'s for a cup holder light. What do you guys think?

Most RAM's already have an existing dash light in the center dash pointing down toward the console area. You can just as easily come off that circuit to power additional LED lights.

I wonder if you could get the switch out of a reg. cab for a QC. Would you be able to turn the Pass. Air Bag off? I have a 6 YO that thinks that my dad's GMC is cooler because "Grandpa can turn his airbag off so I can ride in the front". His truck is an extended cab not a full four door.

Let's prusue the airbag on/off switch idea, I have my laptop mounted on a Ram-mount off to the left side of the passenger seat. I would hate to see what would happen should the airbag went off. That laptop and mount would probably swing onto my side of the truck and who knows if the laptop would be retained by the mount.
