"Customer Programmable" Features -> Yeah Right

Greetings and thanks for the great forum!
I read the tech article about disabling the annoying seat belt chime, but can't get it to work on my truck. In addition to that, I can not get the auto locks at 15mph feature to turn off.
I know I'm following the instructions on both items correctly (tried them both at least 5 times).

Are there certain years or features that the Customer Programmable Features don't work or can't be done?

I dread having to go to the dealer for anything, much less something as simple as this.

Thanks for any ideas...

I haven`t read the articles but I have done both on my 06. Have you traced the wires behind the driver`s seat for the seatbelt? If not find them & hook then together. If you`ve tried this & it didn`t work look again, you must not have a good conection. Did you look in your owner`s manual about the locks? My manual gives you step by step instructions. All this may be in the article, I need to read them. Good luck.

I have an 06 as well and i was able to do the key sequence to disable the chime. ended up doing the seat belt latch trick to get rid off the horn in rev with door ajar. Never heard of the door lock item, ill have to read into that one.

I have an 07 but only had luck with the seatbelt chime. Didn't have to attach any wires thought. Just where your seat belt and you won't hear it anymore.

I picked up on of those 'seatbelt extenders' that the dealerships sell, plug it in the receptacle, then the seatbelt plugs into it, the truck now thinks I am belted up, all the bells and whistles goes away.

The truly nice part about it is now the seatbelt is offset to the left a bit, not always into my neck, much more comfortable driving with the belt on, but actually I could drive with the belt off because the truck 'thinks' I'm belted in.

I hate the 'constant tension' of the seat belt all the time, I wish they had the kind like Ford has, where you can do a double pull and have the tensioner lock to get a little relief when on long drives. The sensor still will snap the tension on when it experiences a 'tilt' beyond normal limits suggesting an accident.

Thanks for the help guys. Checked the wires, all is plugged in.

Reluctantly swung by the dealer on the way home from work, they were awesome! Service advisor plugged it in, let me scroll through all the options and turn on/off all the ones I wanted. Then he checked for any stored codes. No charge, and did it all on the spot. I was in and out in 10 min. I've got to say it was great customer service.

The only option that was not available (I'm guessing it doesn't exist), is something to disable the chime when the door is open and the key is in the ignition.
My Toyota (last truck before this) had the same stupid thing. I found the exact location of the dinger and "disabled" the dinger itself. Has anyone done this on the Dodge, and would it screw up the computer?
I'm loving the truck and super glad I made the switch from Toyota.

I am still trying to figure that out too, but as an useful tip just put the latch in the closed position and it will get rid of the chime. Just remember to open the door before you try to close it otherwise hard bang. BTDT

I got some plastic clips that I put on the seat belt near the roller to keep a little slack in the belt, works great. The clips are like a clothes pin there is a sliding "ring" that pinches the clip with a release button in the center, they may be "tarp clips" or something like that..... they cost a dollar or so.

And the reason for disabling these features is what?
