Cracked Dash
Anyone ever had their dash crack mines an 03. I know the 2nd generations had a problem with this and were recalled, anyone heard of a recall or anything about this?

2nd Gen's recalled??? I'd like to see that!
If there really is a recall I think a lot of us would like to know about it.

You mean they had a recall for dashes like this?
If they did, Chrysler customer service never said a thing about it!
The dash pad from the dealer is around $450, with $650 installation. So you're looking at approximately $1100 to have a Dodge dealership fix a dash that didn't last 5 years before falling apart. If didn't just crack, it fell apart.
I waited for months before I found one at a salvage yard for $100. It cost over $400 at a local shop to have them replace it. You have to remove the entire dash to replace the pad in a 2nd generation Dodge pickup.
When you buy a Dodge, it should be understood you need a Dashmat for your factory dash pad!!!

DTR's 'Go to Guy'
DC will split the repair! I have done it. ( worked at a dealer ) Not as bad as it looks to do, if you are mechanically inclined. Looks intimidating, but really just a lot of plug ins and bolts. The plug ins wont go into another connector, so really its hard to get 'em wrong. Maybe DC will give you the part, if you are willing to put it in yourself. Call the DC Customer Service Number and see what they will do. I also noticed that they now have the upper pad available separately for about 190 bucks. Still have to remove the dash, but parts are a lot less.

Their response - You're are out of warranty. You have to take responsibility for the truck repair.
I'd like to see that recall.
I know that Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City used Dodge pick ups and replaced dozens of them with salvaged dash pads. It made it difficult to find one in central Oklahoma.
From what I understand, Tinker AFB no longer buys Dodge pickups do to the issue.
