My steering box is leaking very slowly from the seal where the box comes apart I was wondering if anyone knows if Dodge would warranty that?

A friend of mine has a 06 with the G56 with about 50K on it and the top seal where the gear shifter goes in started leaking petter bad and he took it to a couple different dealers and they said it is not covered under warranty. He has the 100k bumper to bumper warranty but he had to pay for it. I think they screwed him over. What are you guys thoughts.

Any thoughts or info would be great on either question. Thanks.

 

after 36k on 06 covers motor only, nothing else is covered

 

There are several different extended warranties available. I would recommend your friend look at his carefully, it should spell out what's covered. If he got charged for a covered repair, he should be able to get his money back.

 

If he has a factory extended warranty that gives bumper to bumper coverage then I would think it would be covered. If its aftermarket who knows what it covers.
