code changes each time I check??

I did the push trip button and trun on the key thing and got codes
C code
6706
A4 52
00 00

Did it again (20 seconds later) and received this:
C code
6708
A4 54
00 00

Did it again (20 seconds later)
C code
6710
A4 56
00 00

I can see the pattern so I quit. What is going on?

I think the first two numbers are the codes, and the second two numbers are the number of times the key has been switched. Do not know what the codes mean though.

That is the instrument panel check. If you are trying to find out ECM PCM codes do not push the trip button.

Those guys are both correct.

67 is, "all doors unlock output circuit shorted to ground or voltage".

A4 isn't in my 2004 shop manual.

Are you having trouble with the door unlocking?

No trouble with the doors. The only thing that happen is the engine light came on for 30 min. and after I shut it down and restarted it, no more light. Everything is running great. I have no idea why the light came on. Thanks for the info. Jack

Holding the trip button and turnin the key ON will do the instrument cluster check. It lights up all the lights, check the odometer digits, and swings your guage needles around.

To pull the codes you need to do this. DO NOT hold the trip button. Only turn the key. Start from the OFF position and turn your key in the following sequence: ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON. Leave in the on position, the computers will go into self check and if any codes are present it will tell you on the odometer. If there are no codes it will display --------- on the odometer. It will reapeat this sequence twice and return to normal fuctioning.

Do not know what 191 is. P0630 VIN Not Programmed in PCM. Have you have a reflash lately? Possibly the flash was not completed properly and this would cause a fault and code.

I did have the reflash. Should I have the dealer look at it again for let it go? The truck is running great and I am a beliver of "If it aint broken, don't fix it."

I'm not real familiar with the 04 Dodge comps, but on other older computers when you get irrattic codes it usually means voltage spikes. Makes the comp go crazy. Check the grounds and for loose wires everywhere, especially around the alt and starter and main fuse box. Good luck.
