hello,
just completed a trip of almost 7000 miles going from san diego to detroit, norfolk, va., dallas, tx., tombstone, az. and back to san diego. many side trips so i figure almost 7000 miles. the cummins was flawless. i ran between 70 and 75 most of the way pulling about 4500 pounds. i averaged almost 16 mpg and would have been better had i ran 65 mph. i am glad because when i first bought the truck new i had issues with the injectors. number 1 was replaced, the tube to number 5 came lose and then all 6 injectors were replaced under warranty.
again the truck ran flawlessly and i think running 70 and 75 was the key. the cummins gets my vote. now if only the rest of the truck was as enginered as well as the mill. freaggen ac took a dump in needles, calif with the temp hitting 108. but who cares? that motor has another 800k miles to go.
