Chipped O6 Dually Fenders
Chipped O6 Dually Fenders
I know this is petty, but does anyone else with a 06 dually have chipped paint on the lower leading edge of the rear fender? mine with barely 3000 town and few hwyway miles has a ton of chips down past the primer
Any ideas to prevent this? my 97 chevy had a clear protective cover on the lower edge and 420thousand miles later still looked real good. thanks howard.

I bought a used 04 that had gaping holes in the flares because the old owner drove on gravel. Mudflaps just aren't enough you gotta put on full running boards to protect those fenders. I bought new fenders and waited till I got the new JJ Enterprises S.S. Millenium Boards installed, then bolted them on. 6 months later all is well, no chips or cracks yet.

That looks sweet! Did you apply it yourself of have someone do it? Do you mind divulging the cost? Thanks!
I had it done by Reflex bed liners, I would never try to do this myself you have to cover every inch of the truck except the rockers remove all kinds of parts and then run some kind off wire so the lines are straight. And they took all way past the pinch weld, It cost me $595, I woulden't have any company do this except Reflex, if you look in my pics on page 2 you can also see my old ford it had 14" sprayed on it through the middle. I would reccomend this to everyone I love the stuff.
Here it is I will just post it.

The coating on the lower part of trk looks great. Behind my rear fenders look great due to the mudflaps, My complaint is the front lower edge of the rear fender, looks like the front tires are kicking gravel back on the rear fenders, but I have never even been close to a gravel road yet. I also noticed the front amber clearance light on the fender is now cracked

My solution for the rock chips after owning a '04.5 DRW is I have a full set of Stull SS running boards on order that should arrive about the same time my new truck arrives. As soon as I receive the truck I am slapping those boards on. Those along with a good set of mud flaps should help greatly.
After seeing the rock chips in the white paint of my old truck I do not want any in the Inferno red new truck.
