Search and you will find a number of post on this. Its one of the more common problems with these trucks and appears harmless.

There is a TSB for this problem at the following link. It specifically addresses the &quot;intermittent false Check Gauges on diesel engine equipped vehicles&quot;.

http://www.dodgeram.info/tsb/2003/08-004-03.htm

Anybody have this done yet?

I had the same problem but it quit at about 2,000 miles. I now have over 5000 and have not seen it again. I think most of us received it at one time or another. I even got a chime or two early on.

Mine has flashed in the past, but I don't think it has recently. I'm not worried about it. I pay attention to the oil pressure guage, er switch, and the coolant temp. <br><br>Thanks for posting the TSB. After reviewing the procedures, I think I'll live with the random flashing once every three months. My luck they'd break the radio mounting tabs fixing something that doesn't really need fixing. How many volts are our 12V chargers? I thought they were around 13.6V. Can we regulate them up to 14V like the TSB says to?<br>

Mine keeps flashing about once a week but no one at the dealership knows anything about it.

Re:"Check Gauges" flashing on and off intermitenly

Hummin,<br><br>On a recent trip I had the check gauge light come on twice. Once on the way down and once on the way back. Each way takes just over six hours and is all expressway except the final 20 miles. I had a light load on the way down and returned empty. I was traveling at 75 mph, in cruise, on level roads. Each time this happened I immediately checked the gauges and everything was normal. I'm not happy to see this happen from your post I see that this is a know problem.

Mine has also done it a couple of times. Both times as I was braking coming up the off ramp. Light just blinked for a second. No point in saying anything to the dealer. Unless there is a TSB or recall your just hallucinating if they cant replicate it.

Mine does it several times...(that I notice) it flashes on and off so fast I can hardly get a good look. Also sometimes the chime sounds when I start the truck...after the regular chime....just one loud chime just before I put it in gear??? Probably related to some electrical problem...

Mine happened just last week while traveling, I called the dealer and they said they would research the problem. Sure enough, they called back and said they found the TSB, and I take it in wednesday for the reload, I'll let you know if the truck all of the sudden developes other problems.

It might be the parking brake but I try not to use it...will pay more attention. Took it to the 5@$@#$#$ dealer last week and even told them there was a TSB and they did not fix it...

BamBam, Print out a hard copy of the TSB from
Flashing Gauges TSB. Take it to the service manager and have him read it in front of you. He is probably another, &quot;don't tell me, Show Me guy. ??? ???

Re:"Check Gauges" flashing on and off intermitenly

Something flashed on my panel a few times very quickly on the loooong (15 hour) drive home from the dealer. It happened so fast I never did figure out what it was. Have not seen it since I arrived home.
