Unhappy CD Changer Failure

After about an hour the CDs' get hot and the 6 x CD changer shuts down. Radio still works. A replacement is on order. Seems to happen when the heater is on. Anyone else with this one?

My previous ford changer supplier finally put a little fan in the unit (after my fifth replacement unit). No problems after that. I think the climate control plumbing that runs up behind the head unit may be contirbuitiong to early failure. I wonder who Dodge's supplier is?

Hey there. Yes I did have mine fail too. I got the replacement and DC DID send my cd's back to me very quickly, I was surprised. THey included a sticker on each CD that said " DO NOT USE BURNED CD'S WITH ADHESIVE LABELS" ... Not really sure what they mean or if thats what caused the problem, but the new one seems to be working fine. Still makes some weird clicking noises, but it has done everything I've asked of it so far....we'll see. Might have to break down and get that IVA-D900 alpine DVD/CD player with the in dash screen

Ford sent me one of those notices which was meaningless as I don't use stickers on my CDs'. I still believe heat is the root cause of these head unit failures. Seems to happen after running the CD over an hour.

Lightman, they are talking about homemade (BURNED) CD's with the lables created on your home computer. I guess they get too hot for the unit. Mike
